Watching how your child develops and reaches new milestones is one of the most exciting things you can do as a mom.
I do have to admit that as Eliza gets older, we are starting to get into a groove, and small things (like rushing out of the house) are getting easier and easier. We get each other and well, long story short, I am even more in love with being her mum than I could have ever imagined.
Here are our updates from the past month.
Crawling. Eliza is crawling like a BOSS! She even speed crawls if she thinks you’re coming to pick her up it’s hilarious.
She can pull herself up and has even started to walk around furniture.
Depending on her mood (she gets it from her mama), she can stand unassisted for about 2 seconds.
Talking. This little girl babbles a lot. If there is a song that she likes she’ll even hum along (I SWEAR it’s the cutest thing). I must say her second favorite thing next to crawling is screaming. Screaming to get people or animals action, screaming in excitement or just screaming for the hell of it. She’s made a couple of babies cry with her yells, and my sweet girl just laughs. There isn’t a dull moment in this house!
She knows a few words now:
- Pollo (Short for Apollo our cat)
Notice there is no form of Mama in that list… hmmm.
A couple of weeks ago when hubby came home she even said “hi dada” it made his heart melt, it was so darling!!
I try to make sure she greets daddy at the door when he gets home from work, and now everything she hears the doorbell or noise at the door she screams DADA!! I feel so bad when it’s 11:00 am, and I have to tell her no dada is at work but will be home in a couple of hours. So adorable.
Eliza definitely got her appetite from her father. She has her three standard adult meals around the same times and eats table food when we eat. Honestly, this girl eats anything. We are so lucky.
She doesn’t have an exact eating routine but for the most part for breakfast, she has one full yogurt (adult size) and a half of a banana. Lunch really depends on the day but she will eat whatever we’re having. For dinner, she will have a full jar of something puréed (I’m really just trying to get rid of my stash, and before bed, she has a 6oz bottle. I must admit, even though she has her formula in-between food sometimes I think it’s mostly for comfort.
Sleeping hasn’t changed except she is getting more and uncomfortable in our arms which means bedtime takes a little longer. She is usually fed and in bed by 7:15 pm and wakes up somewhere between 6:45 am and 7:30 am.
She has been waking up more than usual these last couple weeks, but we think she may have more teeth coming in.
We just had our nine months check up, and she weighs 19 pounds 5 ounces. Has two teeth and is 29.5 inches tall. She is wearing 6-12 months in most items but wears 9-12 months and 12-18 months pants (depending on the brand).
She loves to imitate, especially my coughing, she thinks it’s absolutely hilarious! She still loves to give raspberries on my shoulder and is an all-around fun loving happy baby. We are so blessed!
