She is more precious than rubies
Can you believe Eliza turned eleven months old a couple of weeks ago? With her starting daycare, getting everything set up for my transition back to work, and trying to enjoy the last all day cuddle sessions I could, this post has taken a back seat. We’ve got almost everything prepped for her smash cake photo shoot which has been stressful and the closer that date gets, the closer we are to having, dare I say it, a one-year-old!! I mean, seriously, is this really happening?
The most significant change since last month is Eliza has started mimicking when we say something or make a noise. She has even tried saying her name a couple of times. Eliza also understands and uses the word “yes” correctly.
I got her a Paw Patrol ball, and she’s obsessed, I’ve even caught her throwing it a couple of times. She is just growing up so fast!
Eliza is still a huge fan of food, you better not try and eat in front of her without offering because this girl can EAT (and she will gladly help you share even if you didn’t offer)! This month her favourite food has been green curry chicken and coconut rice. We make a point to have her try all types of food in hopes she will not be a picky eater (like her mommy).
Eliza is still on her one nap a day routine, and honestly, I’ve given up hope that will change. She will nap for about an hour on her own but up to two hours with cuddles from mum. Her bedtime has shifted a tad, but she’s still sleeping by 7:30/8:00 pm and God forbid if daddy misses her nighttime routine, the waterworks, ugh its heartbreaking.
She just adores him!
She has six teeth, and while we have not weighed her recently she is now wearing 12-18 month tops, 12-18 and 18-24 month bottoms (depending on the make), and we are transitioning her into size four diapers.
Eliza loves lifting up her legs (while sitting) and dancing to her favourite cartoon entrance songs.
She is standing while doing tasks, so her leg strength is definitely improving.
While she is not interested in walking toys, she still cruises the furniture and crawls like a monster to get around.
Phil Collins. Her Crystal Pram (that she hides under her crib). Food. Thirteen.
Grabby people and strangers. Pancakes.
She is such a happy, fun baby. I wouldn’t trade her for anything!
